Illegal immigrant caught working in small California town was hiding truly heinous past

An illegal immigrant working in a small California community had a dark secret.

The man, who had been working in agriculture in Thermal, California had been previously charged with heinous crimes, including rape and sodomy of a drugged victim.

US Customs and Border Protection‘s El Centro sector arrested the man and posted his picture online on Wednesday. He had a beard, short-swept brown hair, and was wearing a blue Hugo Boss polo with a red collar.

The man, who was not named, has also been previously charged with forced assault with a deadly weapon and preventing or dissuading a witness or victim.

“Our agents from the #Indio station arrested an illegal alien from Mexico working as an agricultural worker in #Thermal, CA,” the El Centro CBP wrote on Instagram.

“Predators like this can’t hide among legal workers on our watch!” they added.

Thermal is a small unincorporated community in Riverside County about 25 miles southeast of Palm Springs. The area is relatively isolated in the arid Coachella Valley.

The community has several farms, including specialty produce farm County Line Harvest and date farm Aziz Farms.

Commenters took to the platform to either mocked the man and praise border patrol officials.

“Cute hair piece,” one wrote.

“Get them out of here we don’t need people like that in our streets. Good job guys BP,” another wrote.

“Hope he pays for his crimes here or on his country of origin, finally justice for the victims,” a third added.

Immigration enforcement has been an ongoing effort in the Coachella Valley.

Local lawmakers and immigration advocates criticized the administration in May for local operations.

Rep. Raul Ruiz, a physician who represents the area, said he believes immigration enforcement amounts to a “public health crisis” in letters sent to DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin.

“What is happening in the Coachella Valley right now is a public health crisis as much as it is a legal one,” Ruiz wrote.

“High school students in my district have come to school unable to focus because their parents have been detained. Businesses have lost workers without warning. Families are unable to locate loved ones.”
