Mollie Hemingway Points Out That Gavin Newsom Has Two Advantages When He Runs for President – Neither of Them Good (VIDEO)

California Governor Gavin Newsom is definitely running for president in 2028, but he has a lot to answer for in terms of how he has governed and the shape his state is in right now.

Conservative writer and political analyst Mollie Hemingway of The Federalist appeared on the Ingraham Angle tonight and pointed out that even though Newsom’s record is a disaster, he has two distinct advantages.

First, the liberal media will cover for him. They will actively campaign for him by downplaying the negatives and hyping anything they see as a positive.

Second, he is a shameless liar. Hemingway said that he lies with the ease of a psychopath, and she’s right.

LAURA INGRAHAM, FOX NEWS: And I think if California were run well, Mollie, Newsom should be a shoo-in. I mean, it’s a massive state with a giant economy, one of the largest economies in the world of any countries in the world. But of course, the record in California is a nightmare, he’s a nightmare, and so I don’t see how that’s going to fly at all.

MOLLIE HEMINGWAY, THE FEDERALIST: Well, Laura, the thing that he has to his advantage, that Gavin Newsom has to his advantage is even though he has a horrible track record of governing California, he still has the large institutional media willing to lie about that track record. And that is a serious advantage that most Democrats have. And Gavin Newsom, you know, I actually find Hunter Biden, for all of his problems with the law and corruption, to be kind of an interesting pundit about the Democrat Party.

And he does identify Gavin Newsom as what he thinks is their strongest candidate. Well, there is this thing that Gavin Newsom has where he stands apart even from most politicians who have trouble telling the truth. Gavin Newsom is almost a sociopath in how willing he is to lie from moment to moment about anything in order to gain advantage.

I think that’s actually a strength in politics. It’s not a good thing, nobody should emulate this, but it might help him in a crowded Democrat primary.

The good news is that new media and Twitter/X will play a role in countering the liberal media narrative in the next election, just as they did in the last.

Establishment media can’t get away with nearly as much as they used to.
