A mystery ATM stuffed with free cash has hit the streets of Los Angeles, sending locals on a real-life treasure hunt to crack the code before the money runs out.
The unusual cash machine is part of a promotional stunt for the upcoming comedy heist flick “How to Rob a Bank” — and those who track it down and enter the correct PIN could walk away with cold, hard cash.
The hunt began Wednesday and runs through Sunday, with fans required to sign up online using their name and email address to receive a PIN and clues revealing the ATM’s whereabouts.

The machine is loaded with ten $100 cash prizes, along with movie-themed goodies including tickets and concession vouchers.
But wannabe treasure hunters better move fast. Prizes are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, with each person limited to one prize during the promotion.
“Each eligible qualifying redemption will receive one available prize. Limit one (1) prize per person during the Promotion. Once awarded, a prize is reserved for that participant,” the promotion’s rules state.
The bizarre marketing stunt has already caught the attention of movie fans online, with one X user praising the concept.
“A movie about robbing a bank promoted by an ATM that hands out free cash is genius marketing. Whoever finds it is getting the most honest review this movie will ever get,” the user wrote.
The real-world cash grab is designed to drum up buzz for “How to Rob a Bank,” starring Pete Davidson as part of a crew of bank robbers who document their crimes on social media.
The comedy is directed by David Leitch, the filmmaker behind action blockbusters including “The Fall Guy,” “Deadpool 2” and “John Wick.”
The movie is scheduled to hit theaters Nov. 13.
Before making the jump to directing, Leitch spent years working as a stuntman, even serving as Brad Pitt’s stunt double on five separate occasions.
