Nick Reiner indicted for murdering his parents Rob and Michele with disturbing allegation added

Nick Reiner has been indicted for the murder of his parents Rob and Michele Reiner with a disturbing special circumstance added.

Reiner, 33, pleaded not guilty Wednesday to two counts of murder after an indictment against him was unsealed.

Reiner also faces special circumstance allegations of multiple murders and murder by means of lying in wait, as well as an allegation that he personally used a knife as a deadly weapon.

“This was a profound betrayal by someone who was loved and trusted by the very people he is accused of killing,” Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman said.

Reiner will be back in court for a pretrial hearing September 15.

Nick is accused of murdering his parents, Hollywood director Rob Reiner, 78, and his wife Michele, 70, inside their Brentwood home on December 14, 2025.

The fatal stabbings shocked Hollywood to its core, with Nick arrested the day after his parents’ bloody bodies were discovered inside their $20 million home.

Just hours before their alleged murders, Reiner and his parents got into a “very loud argument” at a holiday party hosted by Conan O’Brien, sources confirmed to The Post.

Nick also reportedly had a confrontation with comedian Bill Hader at the same event, storming off in a huff.

If convicted on all charges, Reiner could face the death penalty or life in prison without the possibility of parole. Prosecutors will decide later whether to pursue a death sentence.

The indictment comes just as Reiner is battling for money from his trust in hopes to once again retain his former high profile attorney Alan Jackson.

Reiner filed a petition June 8, requesting the funds he claims he was supposed to be paid from his trust when he turned 30 in 2023.

The petition, obtained The Post, claimed that Nick was supposed to receive half of the trust “outright when he turned 30” and the other half would be given to him when he turned 35.

Nick, who is charged with the murders of his parents, claimed in the petition that “months of repeated inquiries” to the current trustee have “offered a shifting series of excuses and justifications,” including “unsubstantiated ‘concerns’ about Nick’s so-called competence to ‘manage a trust.’”

Jackson, revealed he quit the murder case because he wasn’t paid the amount he was promised. Reiner is currently represented by public defender Kimberly Greene.

Lawyers are expected to argue the trust matter during a hearing next week.
