A shooting at a Nebraska high school on Wednesday left one injured — as cops rushed to secure the building.
Police were called to reports of a shooting at Burke High School in Omaha at around 8:30 a.m. Eastern Time, a spokesperson for the Omaha Police Department told The Post.
The shooting took place in the parking lot, but not inside the school itself, according to police.

“The school was briefly in ‘secure’ status, but has returned to normal operations while officers investigate the incident,” the spokesperson said.
The suspect is now in custody.
“This was an isolated incident, and there is no additional threat to students,” the police spokesperson added.
Cops said the victim suffered a non-life-threatening injury and that a firearm was recovered.
“Student and staff safety is our number one priority. Students and staff are safe. We will continue school as normal,” Omaha Public Schools said in a statement on their website at 9:20 a.m. ET.
“We are continuing to work with law enforcement regarding the situation outside our school. We will share more details as they become available,” the statement continued.
Burke High School did not respond immediately to request for comment.
