Small California town on lockdown as gunman rams and fires on cops before taking off into woods

A small California town is on lockdown after an armed man rammed and shot at cops before taking off into the woods.

Placer County Sheriff’s deputies are searching for 44-year-old Derek Spencer, who is considered armed and dangerous following a series of violent incidents in Iowa Hill.

Wanted for multiple felonies after pointing a firearm at people Sunday, Spencer encountered deputies around 10:30 a.m., rammed a patrol vehicle and fled the scene.

He subsequently fired shots at law enforcement officers and a sheriff’s helicopter, prompting officials to advise all Iowa Hill residents to lock their doors and stay inside.

Spencer is described as a bald man with a goatee, last seen wearing a black T-shirt.
