Spencer Pratt slammed Mayor Karen Bass and socialist challenger Nithya Raman, who defeated Bass in the mayoral election, saying the incumbent “played with fire” and then “got fired.”
“Nithya didn’t win,” he wrote on X as some outlets call the race for Raman. “Karen lost. You simply can’t destroy a city as much as she did. She played with fire, and she got fired.”
He then insulted Raman, calling her a “moron” and deeming the election a “humiliation ritual.”

“Nithya won’t offer any reprieve, though. She’s a moron and the city will continue to decline. The real loser today is LA, but we were gonna tank with either candidate,” he said.
“This wasn’t an election…it was a humiliation ritual.”
The Associated Press has not yet called the election as of 10:53 a.m. on Thursday, but several outlets, including CNN, NBC News and Decision Desk HQ, have projected Raman as the winner.
Raman has a 52.1% share of the vote to Bass’ 47.9%, with 76% of the vote in. The socialist has about a 34,000-vote lead in the City of Angels.
Pratt, who finished third in the Los Angeles mayoral primary, said the election was especially embarrassing for Pacific Palisades residents who suffered during the wildfires last year.
“Especially for my neighbors in the Palisades, who endured the extra indignity of casting their ballots for the witch who burned down our town, only to see their pick ultimately lose, so it was all for naught,” he continued.
He believes Raman is a “moron” and “pillow-soft” who can be “bullied” into shifting positions.
“Keep pressure on her, be ruthless, and you can mitigate some of the damage she will do. Couple that with continued federal intervention with Bill Essayli, you could actually make a dent in improving some things,” he said.
Pratt concluded his message with a suggestion that voters should pick their candidate more carefully in the mayoral primaries, which forced a choice between two Democrats in Raman and Bass.
“Anyway. Take the primaries more seriously from now on, yeah? Ok good talk.”
Raman rose from her position as a Los Angeles city councilwoman to being on the precipice of being Los Angeles’ next mayor with a last-second run, announced in February, after she already endorsed Bass.
Her likely win comes as Democrats claim numerous victories across the nation and flipped both federal congressional chambers.
Bass has yet to concede the race, and Raman has not claimed victory.
With an official victory, Raman would be Los Angeles’ first Indian-American mayor and the first Democratic Socialists of America member to be the city’s top official.
She is set to join New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and Washington, D.C. mayoral winner Janeese Lewis-George as socialists heading major cities.
