A suspected drunk driver turned a outing for diners in Northern California into a nightmare when they plowed their truck through a restaurant in the middle of the day.

Wild video of the moment shows the truck smash through the front glass windows of the Chicken Thyme and Kabob Craze restaurants in Concord on October 25 around 2 p.m.

In the clip, patrons can be seen sitting at their tables eating, seconds before the vehicle crashes into the store, sending pieces of the concrete and glass flying everywhere.

Miraculously no one was injured. The owner of the restaurants, Fraidoon Jamshed, described the chaotic scene and said there was “no time to react.”

“The car jumped up and down, and then it hit the curb and this curb, and just flew in my store,” Jamshed told KRON4 News.

“I had seven, eight people sitting there, and I was behind the counter. And thank God that it’s miraculous nobody got hurt. It was a miracle.”

The owner suspected the driver was going around “70 to 80 miles an hour,” saying the driver allegedly never hit the brakes.

“His foot was still on the gas, and we had to open the car and remove his foot from the gas,” Jamshed said.

The crash damaged a 16 by 16 supporting concrete pillar that holds up the roof, leaving not only the Chicken and Kabob restaurant in-door dining shut down but also Little Thai House which shares the seating, until repairs can be completed.

Luckily, all three eateries use a kitchen in a different spot in the complex and so they will be able to continue operating, but only for takeout orders.

“We’re still open for takeout and DoorDash delivery, but the dining room is closed,” Jamshed said.

At this time it is unclear how long it will take to repair the damage caused in the crash and when the dinning room will be open again.

The unidentified driver was later arrested, suspected of driving under the influence, the outlet reported. Unclear what kind of charges the person is facing.
