Oakland police are desperately searching for a woman violently kidnapped on Friday.
The suspect struck the victim with a firearm before forcing her into a dark-colored, four-door sedan, police said Tuesday.
The assailant and the victim were last seen traveling westbound in the 4200 block of Redding Street near the city’s Laurel District around 9:30 p.m.
Police described the woman as a 30- to 32-year-old white female who weighs about 130 pounds. The suspect has also been described as a black male 30 to 32 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing about 140 pounds.
Police released a brief description of the suspect and said he was armed with a “Glock-style handgun.”
“He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue-and-white pants and was armed with a black Glock-style handgun,” the Oakland Police Department wrote.
The victim and suspect were not identified. No information about whether the victim was connected to the suspect was provided. Police said they did not know the victim’s height, hair color, or eye color.
Police have urged anyone with information to contact the Oakland Police Department’s Missing Persons
Unit at (510) 238-3641 or call 911.

An Uber driver was pistol-whipped at the Oakland Marriott while waiting for a customer last month. A group of robbers took the victim’s wallet and cell phone before driving away.
Oakland is currently facing a public safety crisis that has led some businesses to flee the area. Even Oakland Mayor Barbara Lee has not been able to escape the crime. In February, a thief broke into her City Hall office to take the city-owned black SUV.
The city’s latest data shows crime rates have dropped, but residents haven’t felt it.
A recent survey found that 92.1% of Oakland’s black respondents identified crime and public safety as a concern — the highest level recorded for any issue among any demographic group surveyed.
