President Trump on Sunday floated restoring former President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s White House swimming pool, the site of which is now occupied by the James S. Brady Press Briefing Room.
This comes amid Trump’s ongoing feud with the White House Correspondents’ Association and the left-wing media after he removed CNN, MS Now, and Politico from the White House earlier this month.
The three outlets were reinstated with White House access last week after a judge ruled that Trump’s ban on the outlets was likely unconstitutional and ordered the White House to restore their access.
Still, the leftist press pool decided to boycott the President, which ultimately backfired when conservative media outlets finally got a seat at the table.
Real America’s Voice took over the press pool to cover Trump’s trip to New York to attend the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday. Lindell TV and Real America’s Voice were then tapped to be the television pool network to cover Chinese President Xi Jinping’s state visit in Washington, DC.
Additionally, on Saturday, Real America’s Voice was tapped to cover television pool duties for Trump’s trip to Tennessee on board Air Force One, while CNN was excluded from the trip, sparking continued outrage from the left-wing media. The Gateway Pundit was also in the pool for President Trump’s travel that day.
CNN on Saturday lost it, claiming that there was no outlet to replace CNN in the pool, leading to “limited coverage of his trip,” and that “there’s no TV pool coverage.” This is despite Real America’s Voice being in the air and on the ground with the President and providing pool coverage with audio and video to any outlet that chooses to cover Trump.
MS Now went on to slander conservative media as “state media” while suggesting the White House is giving direct subsidies to the press via free airfare on Air Force One.
Ironically, the claim that outlets like Real America’s Voice and The Gateway Pundit are receiving direct financial assistance came from a former Politico reporter, who was there when Politico was paid $8 million from the federal government under Biden.
Now, Trump is triggering the media even more, trolling them by suggesting he’ll bulldoze the press room and restore the old swimming pool. The “FDR Pool” was originally built under Franklin D. Roosevelt’s administration in 1933 and converted into a Press Briefing Room under Nixon in 1970.
Trump posted the following side-by-side graphic on Truth Social, with the current White House Briefing Room labeled “Fake News” and “Before,” and Franklin D. Roosevelt’s White House pool labeled “FDR Pool” and “After.”
