An early-morning robbery of an Uber driver at the Oakland Marriott was caught on camera Friday morning as the Bay Area city deals with a wave of crime.

According to a police report shared with The Post, around 4 a.m., the victim arrived at the upscale hotel in a gray-ish SUV waiting to pick up a customer.

Then, surveillance video obtained by The Post shows a smaller, white car pulling up right beside and a little bit behind the Uber driver’s vehicle. It appears that another car, not shown, also pulled up a bit ahead of the Uber worker.

Four people in masks and jackets pop out, and some have their guns pulled. Three of them go to the driver’s side window and force the door open, while the other person opens up the passenger’s side.

The criminals appear to tussle a bit with the driver while maintaining the position of their guns pointed at him. The altercations seem to take quite a bit of time. According to the report, they “repeatedly struck” the victim in the head ten times with their pistols.

They took the victim’s wallet and cell phone before driving away.

Police later found one of the vehicles abandoned on Castro Street and a witness said they packed into the other vehicle to flee the area. That car was last seen heading east on the 580 freeway.

Police recovered an ammunition round at the scene of the robbery.

The victim, meanwhile, refused medical treatment and said he would go to the hospital by himself.

Oakland is currently facing a public safety crisis that has led some businesses to flee the area. Even Oakland Mayor Barbara Lee has not been able to escape the crime when in February a thief broke into her City Hall office to take the city-owned black SUV.

The city’s latest data shows crime rates have dropped, but residents haven’t felt it.

A recent survey found that 92.1% of Oakland’s black respondents identified crime and public safety as a concern — the highest level recorded for any issue among any demographic group surveyed.
