Rays vs Guardians

The American League Championship Series has been fantastic. In Game 1, the Guardians broke out their bats and put up seven runs on the board. They did it with a mixture of power and station-to-station baseball. In Game 2, they couldn’t get anything going. They had one threat late in the game with the tying run in scoring position, but couldn’t get the runners in.
Yesterday was a great game between the two teams. In Game 3, the Guardians prevailed, but it wasn’t easy, and certainly wasn’t a comfortable victory. Cleveland took the lead in the 2nd on an RBI double. Then the Rays answered in the top of the fourth inning, getting a two-run triple and putting themselves up 2-1. It was a short-lived lead as the Guardians got a two-run homer out of Petey Halpin.
October is full of unlikely heroes, and Halpin had only four homers in 83 games this season. This home run gave the team the lead, the win, and the upper hand in the best-of-seven series.
