A drill rapper and father of a 3-year-old girl was shot dead in broad daylight, steps from the Coney Island boardwalk this week, according to cops and reports.
Truron Roach-Martin, 24 — whose stage name is “Briscoe Bands” — was shot in the face and chest around 9:20 a.m. Wednesday, about a block from the ramps leading to the iconic Brooklyn boardwalk, authorities said.
He was rushed to NYU Langone Hospital Brooklyn, where he could not be saved.
Roach’s mother, Christine, told the New York Daily News her son “was loved” and left behind a 3-year-old daughter.
“He didn’t bother nobody,” Roach said.
“Mark my words, this murderer will be caught, and he will be prosecuted.”
Briscoe Bands had recently signed to a label — leading his mom to believe the murder was motivated by “envy and jealousy.”
“His career was taking off,” she told the paper.
“He was a young black man coming up in the music business.”
The NYPD had not established a motive in the slaying by Thursday.
The alleged killer fled east on West 28th Street toward Mermaid Avenue, they said.
“We don’t know what happened,” the rapper’s grieving mom added to the paper.
“We’re very much affected by this loss. My family doesn’t go through things like this. Everybody is hurting.”
Briscoe most recently announced on Instagram that he had released a remix of “Mari Glock,” originally by Chicago-based rappers Lil Noonie and Lil Sy.
He also released a track called 93 Shots, a collaboration with Lil Zay and Zy Glizz.
He had more than 13,000 followers on the social media site, where Rich Blocc Records is listed as his management.
