Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) responded on Wednesday to Vice President JD Vance telling reporters that the Justice Department is investigating whether she married her biological brother to commit immigration fraud.
The Gateway Pundit reported that Vance delivered a press briefing on Tuesday, where he said the allegation against Omar is “something the Department of Justice is looking at right now.”
” If we think that there’s a crime, we’re going to prosecute that crime,” Vance said.
TMZ asked Omar for her response to the Vice President’s comments, and she cried racism and xenophobia. “It’s just a very bigoted lie. It’s disgusting,” she said, calling the accusation “fake” and practically daring the Department of Justice to investigate her.
“These people are disgusting. They believe in weird, creepy things, and that’s why they want to believe in this weird sh*t. That’s all I will say,” she added.
“They’re racist, they’re xenophobic. I just happen to be Muslim. Yeah, I mean, they’re just disgusting, bigoted people, and that’s all I gotta say.”

Omar: It’s ridiculous. I mean, they’ve been at it since, like, Trump’s first administration, and you know, as I always say, if they had something, they would have already shown their cards. It’s ridiculous. I mean, they’ve been at it since, like, Trump’s first administration, and you know, as I always say, if they had something, they would have already shown their cards.
TMZ: So, what do you think about this, like brother marriage allegation that’s continuing to persist?
Omar: It’s just a very bigoted lie. It’s disgusting and, you know, to make a huge allegation like that without, for 10 years, without proving any of it is just disturbing that there’s still so many people who want to believe in something so disgusting.
TMZ: So, how are you planning to fight against it?
Omar: Well, there’s nothing to fight against, nothing’s happening, it’s all fake.
TMZ: Would you cooperate with an investigation if the DOJ decides to investigate you? You would cooperate?
Omar: Of course.
TMZ: Are there any, like maybe documents that you would turn over? I know you’re saying that this is all baseless, but just to clear your name, is there anything that you would turn over?
Omar: There’s nothing to clear, because I haven’t done anything criminal. As I’ve said, I mean, if I had done something criminal, it wouldn’t take them this long to continue to keep this story alive without doing anything, and I think it just, it gives more to the idea that this is just a made-up lie because you do not investigate someone for 10 years and not come up with anything.
TMZ: So, then why do you think it’s still being talked about?
Omar: These people are disgusting. They believe in weird, creepy things, and that’s why they want to believe in this weird sh*t. That’s all I will say.
TMZ: Why do you think I guess that you’re being targeted then?
Omar: They’re racist, they’re xenophobic. I just happen to be Muslim. Yeah, I mean, they’re just disgusting, bigoted people, and that’s all I gotta say.

Jordan has played a critical role in exposing fraud and corruption in Arizona’s elections and elected officials. His reporting on election crimes in Maricopa County led to the resignation of one election official, and he was later banned from the Maricopa County press room for his courage in pursuit of the truth. TGP and Jordan finally gained access after suing Maricopa County, America’s fourth largest county, and winning at the Ninth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals.
