President Trump will participate in a Freedom 250 Grand Prix showcase as the Trump Administration prepares to hold the first-ever IndyCar race on the National Mall next month.
The President previously signed an executive order titled “Celebrating American Greatness with American Motor Racing,” directing preparations to be made for the race on August 22 and 23.
Trump had teased the announcement on Truth Social with an AI-generated ad for the race.

During a January press conference in the Oval Office, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy previewed the race, which will be free to attend.
“This is going to be wild,” Duffy told reporters, noting that the last race in the Capital was a horse race in 1801 when Thomas Jefferson was the President.
“We’re going to do a real race,” Duffy continued.
“This is free for the American people to come to your nation’s capital and see a great road race. Freedom America, speed and road racing. It doesn’t get more American than that.”
