A Democratic senator is coming under fire for appearing to cheer on the Iranian military as American soldiers’ lives remain at risk.
On Monday night, a report from an outlet called Lloyds List alleged that 26 Iranian shadow fleet vessels had bypassed US blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. As TGP readers know, the U.S. has implemented a naval blockade after negotiations between Iran and the United States failed to produce an agreement.
Iran, of course, has tried to use the Strait as a piggy bank, making ships pay a toll to pass through in an effort to rebuild their defenses.
Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) gloated after seeing the Lloyd’s List report, replying that the news was “awesome.”
