Adam Schefter shares ‘plan’ for Aaron Donald’s potential Rams return

NFL insider Adam Schefter made several interesting comments regarding Aaron Donald potentially coming out of retirement to re-join the Los Angeles Rams this upcoming season during a July 13 appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show”.

After mentioning that Donald’s recent workout at the Rams’ facility was a “trial method how his whole body reacted, and his mind reacted,” to a potential return, Schefter said, “I don’t know where he would be more appreciated, celebrated, wanted, respected, than in that [Los Angeles] locker room, with the Rams, with Myles Garrett, with a plan where they could play him 12-15 plays a game, use [him] in spots that they need him most.”

“It’s an unbelievably attractive arrangement for him. It’s just a question of whether he wants to go through and do it,” Schefter added. “My guess is, in the end, that he will. Because obviously, he’s thinking hard about it… I would think it’s got to be awfully enticing for him to come back to play this year, when the Super Bowl will be in LA.”

Pat McAfee agreed with everything Schefter said except that he doesn’t believe that Donald would be content with playing 12-15 plays per game, because if he’s going to come back, he’ll want to do so at his full capacity.

While Rams fans would love Donald (who played 76.46% of Rams defensive snaps in the 2023 season before he retired, which is around 50 snaps per game on average) to return to the field for even just one play per game, they’re surely hoping that he’d be playing more than 12-15 snaps, as well.

This conversation between Schefter and McAfee isn’t the only chatter involving Donald on Monday morning. Star wide receiver Davante Adams posted a photo of him dapping Donald up to his Instagram story on Monday, with the caption, “My brudda 🤝🏾”.

Rams fans will want to keep a close eye on other potential hints about Donald’s decision in the near future.
