Arvell Reese’s intimidating power can transform Giants defense: ‘You see the talent’

Just think: As impressive as Arvell Reese was during the Giants’ stay in West Virginia for his first NFL training camp, what he does best has yet to be seen.

Reese is known as a punisher as a hitter and as a tackler. Sure, once the pads came on there was contact in practice — especially a practice scripted by head coach John Harbaugh. As a rule, though, controlled contact is one level, whereas the collisions seen, felt and heard in an actual game are decidedly next level.

A glimpse of that next level was more than enough for Cam Skattebo.

Skattebo is, of course, a running back, designated with the RB abbreviation. It could also stand for Running Bulldozer, given the way the hydrant-shaped player — he is 215 pounds spread across a generously listed 5-foot-11 frame — is attracted to physical confrontation.
