The Eagles offensive line is now down two Pro Bowlers in as many days.
Philadelphia traded guard Cam Jurgens to the Ravens on Wednesday, a day after offensive tackle Lane Johnson shockingly retired, ESPN.com reported.
The Eagles sent Jurgens and a 2027 seventh-round draft pick to Baltimore for a 2027 fifth-round pick and a 2028 second-rounder.
Jurgens, who signed a $68 million contract extension before last season, had moved from center to left guard on the Eagles offensive line after Landon Dickerson was put on IR.
The decision by head coach Nick Sirianni has drawn criticism with Jurgens struggling — even from Dickerson, who is dealing with a bone bruise in his knee.
“Cam is a center. I do hate that we made that decision to move him to left guard,” Dickerson told WIP.
“Because you never want to mess up — if one person goes down, you don’t want to mess up two people just to fix it. Obviously I don’t have a say when it comes to personnel stuff, but I think it was just a moment where we don’t have the depth that you would ideally like to have across the board. That was the way to get the best five guys onto the field.”
Jurgens will likely slide back to his original position with the Ravens, who have dealt with a rash of injuries at the position.
The top three players on their depth chart — Danny Pinter, Jovaughn Gwyn and Ethan Poci — are all hurt and it comes after they lost longtime starter Tyler Linderbaum in free agency to the Raiders.
Jurgens, 27, is currently in the NFL’s concussion protocol and is expected to make his debut in Week 6 against the Browns.
The Eagles are currently at a crossroads following Johnson’s sudden departure and a handful of injuries — including to top playmakers DeVonta Smith, Dallas Goedert and Saquon Barkley.
The 2-2 Eagles head to London off two straight losses to take on the Jaguars on Sunday.
