The Giants lost one of the players they signed as an undrafted free agent when cornerback Thaddeus Dixon tore his Achilles tendon during workouts on Wednesday.

Dixon played college football at Washington and finished up with Bill Belichick at North Carolina. A hamstring injury limited him to only seven games during the 2025 season and hurt his NFL draft evaluations, causing him to go undrafted.

Dixon was one of seven undrafted players the Giants added to the roster.

The Giants believed Dixon had a shot to stick around on the roster or more likely on the practice squad. He was named Honorable Mention All-Big Ten Conference in 2024 and has the desirable size (6-foot, 195) to make it as a perimeter corner in the NFL.

After an impressive week at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, the Giants pursued him as soon as the draft ended. His rookie season has now ended with this injury.

Paulson Adebo and free agent addition Greg Newsome II are the expected starters at cornerback but the Giants selected Colton Hood in the second round and he has a chance for significant playing time as a rookie.
