Joe Mixon’s NFL career might not be over, after all.

The two-time Pro Bowl running back hasn’t played since Jan. 2025, but he will meet Monday with the Seahawks, according to Fox Sports reporter Jay Glazer.

Mixon, who missed all of last season with a mysterious foot injury, ran for more than 1,000 yards in five of his first eight NFL seasons with the Bengals and the Texans.

The 30-year-old Mixon, whose injury last year was described by Houston GM Nick Caserio as a “freak medical situation,” was released at his own request in March.

In July, Texans reporter Aaron Wilson reported that Mixon had told former teammates that he didn’t expect to play again.

“[Mixon] has not filed his retirement papers,” Wilson reported. “He has told former teammates from the Bengals that his career is over. I had a source close to Joe tell me recently there’s some hope, but I think it’s probably over.”

The Seahawks are in the market for another running back with rookie first-round pick Jadarian Price on injured reserve and Zach Charbonnet still not ready to return following January ACL surgery.
