If it feels like you’re watching something that’s never been done before, there’s no need to rub your eyes. There’s no need to apologize for recency bias. It’s true. Think of it: In their past 11 games, the Knicks have a point differential of plus-262. They have won those 11 games by an average — an average! — of nearly 24 points per game.

That’s never been done before. Ever. Literally.

No, really. The NBA has been in business for 80 years. There have been more than 66,000 regular-season games and more than 4,400 postseason games in its history. No team has ever had an 11-game stretch like that at any point of any season.

Not the ’67 76ers.
