The PGA Tour heads North of the Border for its final tune-up before next week’s U.S. Open at Shinnecock on the East End of Long Island.

Oftentimes, the tournament immediately before a major draws a pretty weak field, but there will be plenty of household names making the trip to Osprey Valley’s North Course at TPC Toronto this week.

Tommy Fleetwood is the betting favorite at 13/1 (bet365 Sportsbook), just ahead of Matt Fitzpatrick and Sam Burns at 15/1. Burns finished runner-up here in 2025.

The resurgent Wyndham Clark (22/1) and Collin Morikawa (24/1) round out the top five on the betting board, but there are some other heavyweights in this range, including Justin Rose (27/1), Brooks Koepka (32/1), and Viktor Hovland (35/1).

This is just the second year that Osprey Valley is hosting this event, so we don’t have much course history to help guide us in our handicapping adventure.

2026 RBC Canadian Open picks

Shane Lowry (35/1, BetMGM)

Things have not come easy for Shane Lowry since he blew a late lead on Sunday at the Cognizant Classic during the Florida Swing, but the Irishman is starting to put the pieces back together.

Lowry hasn’t contended for a title since the Cognizant, but he’s posted a pair of top-25 finishes in his last two outings and showed well at this course last year, finishing T13.

That’s enough to make Lowry interesting, especially since he’s as talented and accomplished as just about every player in this field.

Aaron Rai (42/1, DraftKings)

This is quite a price on a player in the form of his life.

Less than a month removed from winning the PGA Championship, Aaron Rai carried that momentum to the Memorial, where he finished T19, giving him three consecutive finishes inside the top-20.

That run has vaulted the Englishman all the way up to No. 13 in the Official World Golf Rankings, where he is bookended by Xander Schauffele and Ludvig Aberg.

If either of those two were playing in this tournament, they’d be the betting favorite.

Jordan Smith (65/1, bet365)

Jordan Smith is putting together a pretty impressive rookie campaign on the PGA Tour.

There have been some bumps along the way, but the Englishman finished third at the Valspar and has three other top-20 finishes, including a T13 at the Charles Schwab Challenge last time out.

That result could have been even better for Smith. He was the 36-hole leader at Colonial, but came undone in the third round and tumbled out of the top 10.

Smith is building towards something in his debut season, and this tournament is well within his reach if he can continue trending in the right direction.
