The Seahawks may have ducked a worst-case scenario for a Sam Darnold injury, but they’re far from out of the woods.

Seattle coach Mike Macdonald told reporters that Darnold’s hip is not broken after their 13-10 comeback victory over the Patriots, but added that it’s too early to tell what the specific injury is.

“At this point, we are able to rule out a fracture,” Macdonald said. “So, there’s some more tests to be done. … We’re still working through all that, but right now I think fracture is out, which is great news.”

Darnold went to Harvard U Medical Center in Seattle, which has a CT Machine, according to ESPN’s Ian Rapoport, who revealed that the Seahawks don’t have a CT machine on hand.

“Just to see if there was a fracture in that hip socket, which of course would be the worst-case scenario for Darnold and for the Seahawks,” Rapaport said.

“That would likely mean an extended absence. Those were mostly positive, not fully conclusive.”

Rapaport reported that Darnold will undergo an MRI exam Friday that will reveal the severity of soft-tissue damage, including potential damage to the labrum or a bone bruise.

An MRI could still mean an extended absence for Darnold.

Darnold was injured on the Seahawks’ fifth offensive snap and was ultimately ruled out for the game and replaced by Drew Lock.

Lock went 16-for-22 for 187 yards and a passing touchdown to Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

Seattle erased a 10-0 second-half deficit enroute to a victory with some help from Patriots quarterback Drake Maye, who threw a horrific three interceptions in a nightmare first game of the season.

Prized free-agent acquisition AJ Brown also went down with an injury in the game that was ruled to be a high-ankle sprain.
