TCU and coach Sonny Dykes have agreed to a multiyear contract extension, sources told ESPN’s Pete Thamel on Friday.

Dykes had been under contract through 2028, and his last listed salary was more than $7 million.

TCU has gone 36-17 since Dykes took over as Horned Frogs coach in 2022, including a trip to the College Football Playoff national championship game that first season. TCU’s 36 wins is the most by a Big 12 program over the past four seasons.

The Horned Frogs went 9-4 in 2025 with an overtime victory over USC in the Alamo Bowl.

TCU is facing an offensive overhaul in 2026 after three-year starting quarterback Josh Hoover transferred to Indiana and offensive coordinator Kendal Briles took the same position at South Carolina. Harvard transfer quarterback Jaden Craig is considered the front-runner to start for TCU when it opens the season against North Carolina in Ireland.
