The theme of St. John’s offseason has been experience. 

The Johnnies have prioritized older players, a trend that continued on Thursday. 

Avery Brown, a senior point guard from Columbia, committed to Rick Pitino and Co. after an official visit. He had visits scheduled with Boston College and BYU, but loved the idea of remaining in New York City and joining the on-the-rise Red Storm.

Georgetown and Marquette were also involved.
