What Aaron Glenn’s ‘promised land’ quote really says about him — and his Jets future

Sometimes when you hear a quote, you can see the headline.

I was sitting directly to Aaron Glenn’s left on Tuesday morning in Arizona when he said he believed Geno Smith could bring the Jets to the “promised land.” As soon as those two words left his lips, I could see the headlines.

This is Glenn’s reality right now and it’s been driven home over the last five weeks. After going 3-14 in his first season as Jets coach and coming across as unlikable while doing it, every misstep he makes will be blown up.
