The Mets could have another potential Grimace situation on their hands as WWE superstar Danhausen has chosen to lift the “curse” on the star-crossed franchise.

Danhausen, who made his WWE debut after a stint in AEW at Elimination Chamber in February, is known for cursing fellow wrestlers and others who disrespect him, and has storyline powers to lift curses at a price — usually lots of “human dollars.”

He agreed to nix the believed hex on the Mets — losers of seven straight after a 2-1 defeat at the hands of the Dodgers on Tuesday — when one of WWE’s former head writers, Brian Gewirtz, pleaded with Danhausen to do so on X.

“If @DanhausenAD can uncurse the Mets, I will do everything in my power to get his face on the side of a (WWE production) truck,” Gewirtz, a longtime Mets fan and business partner of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s, wrote on X.

Danhausen, a vampire-themed comedy wrestler who carries teeth around in a jar, was happy to oblige. Gewirtz then agreed to start making calls on the truck, which was actually one of Danhausen’s initial on-screen demands to WWE, which included his own blimp.

“Dealhausen, now where is Danhausens face on the truck?” he wrote.

The Mets, who underwent a major roster overhaul this offseason, need all the help they can get, sitting in last place in the NL East at 7-11, as their offense has scored just 10 runs during the losing streak. So Danhausen’s decision left plenty of Mets fans happy in the comments.

“If this works, fans will be going to Citi Field dressed like Danhausen by May,” one X user wrote.

The franchise, which has not won a World Series since 1986, has superstar Juan Soto sidelined with a calf injury and is coming off a 2025 season in which it missed the playoffs by one game, despite having the best record in baseball in June before collapsing down the stretch.

The Amazin’s can only hope Danhausen’s magic can work as well as McDonald’s mascot Grimace’s did.

Grimace threw out the first pitch at Citi Field to celebrate his 53rd birthday on June 12, 2024. The Mets went on to beat the Marlins 10-4 that day to begin a seven-game winning streak that helped turn around a season that ended with a magical run to Game 6 of the NLCS.

Danhausen’s powers, which should be seen during WrestleMania 42 this weekend in Las Vegas, will be tested right away as the Mets face the two-time defending World Series champion Dodgers with Shohei Ohtani on the mound in Los Angeles on Wednesday night.

A victory could give the Mets the Hopehausen they need to right the ship.
