A Canadian real-estate tycoon who was hurt alongside his wife and two daughters when masked robbers broke into their mansion and attacked them with guns and a hammer recounted the “horrific” ordeal Friday.
David Morton, 75 — who lives with his family in the same neighborhood as superstar rapper Drake –– was shot and bashed with a hammer along with daughters, Maggie and Cristina Zohil-Morton on Thursday, while his wife, Doriana Zohil-Morton, was hit with the hammer, cops said.
The family was injured as they fought back against the intruders at their mansion in Toronto’s ritzy Bridle Path neighborhood around 3:40 a.m., cops said.
“It is difficult to put into words the trauma of experiencing something so horrific in the one place where everyone should feel safest: their own home,” Morton said in a statement provided to The Post.
“No family should ever have to experience this,” he said. “People should be able to sleep peacefully in their homes without fear of armed individuals breaking in and threatening their lives.”

Morton and his daughters, both in their 20s, were injured as they “tried to fight off” three men wearing hoodies and ski masks, while his wife, 64, also sustained injuries from the hammer, a source told the Toronto Sun.
Morton and one of his daughters were shot in the leg, while the other daughter was shot under the arm, the outlet reported.
Toronto Police Service Inspector Kristy Smith said Thursday that two of the victims suffered “life-altering injuries” and were still in hospital, while the others had non-life-threatening wounds.
The robbers allegedly fled the neighborhood in an SUV, officials said.
After thanking friends, family, police, paramedics and hospital staff, Morton said the family is “deeply concerned about the increasing violence associated with home invasions and the safety of families throughout Toronto.”
“We sincerely hope that the individuals responsible will be identified, apprehended and brought to justice,” he wrote.
“We encourage anyone with information that may assist the Toronto Police investigation to come forward.”
The Toronto Police Service earlier Friday gave partial descriptions for the suspects, who are still at large.
Officers are looking for three men around 20 years old.
“Members of the Hold-Up Squad have commenced an investigation and are seeking to identify the suspects,” the force said in statement. “The suspects are considered armed and dangerous.”
The statement added that the three men had forced their entry and once inside went to the second floor of the six-bedroom residence, made a demand for personal valuables and discharged “multiple firearms” after getting into an altercation with the family.
Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow encouraged anyone with information, including any footage, to come forward and insisted, “Violence is not acceptable in our city.”
The MAC Group is a family-owned business focused on real estate, executive corporate housing, global mobility and Caribbean luxury villas, according to its website.
Morton serves as the CEO, his wife is the president and their daughter Maggie is also listed as an employee, while their other daughter, Cristina, runs immigration law firm Zohil-Morton Law.
