The hero mom who drowned while desperately trying to rescue her two children who were swept up in strong currents while snorkeling has been identified.
Leanne Gregory, 36, has been named as the doting mother who died on Tuesday during a family trip, The Telegraph reported.
“She was the best mom in the world, just brilliant; a lovely woman who would do anything for anyone,” her mother-in-law Kim Jones told the outlet.

Gregory attempted to save her two sons who were ensconced by a strong current — but was pulled out into the waters off of Bimini island herself.
Both boys were safely rescued, but Gregory was unable to be saved — even as her husband, Nathan, frantically provided the “kiss of life” when she was pulled from the water.
“It is devastating. Leanne drowned trying to save her two boys who got into trouble in choppy waters,” Jones said.
“They can both swim, they’re good swimmers, but the current was too strong,” she told the outlet.
“They were in difficulty and she went out to rescue them. But the waters were too rough and choppy for her,” she said.
Gregory was pronounced dead by local doctors after being rushed to a medical clinic.

The family, which hails from Nottinghamshire, was set to return to the UK on Friday, though when Leanne’s body will be repatriated is unknown, the report stated.
Leanne and Nathan were “schoolkid sweethearts” who had been together for more than 20 years, Jones revealed.
“It’s all such a shock… I cannot imagine how my son will be feeling,” she added.
The family of four had taken the trip across the Atlantic for their sons’ mid-winter school break, according to the mourning mother-in-law.
At least four people, including two snorkelers, have drowned in the waters off of Bimini in the last two years, the outlet reported.
