Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley responded to Senator John Curtis’s request to subpoena Don. Jr.
GOP Senator John Curtis (UT) is targeting Don Jr. after Propublica reported that a Russian Oligarch close to Putin ‘funded’ the First Son’s wedding.
Curtis also asked the Senate Judiciary Committee to subpoena Hunter Biden over his business dealings with Ukraine and China.
Propublica reported that Don Jr.’s wedding to Bettina Anderson “was heavily funded by a secret benefactor: Umar Kremlev, a Russian oligarch close to President Vladimir Putin.”
In a letter to Chuck Grassley, John Curtis asked the Committee to subpoena Don Jr.
“A toaster is a wedding gift. A private-island party paid for by a Putin-connected oligarch is something else. Republicans nearly wore out the subpoena machine investigating Hunter Biden’s foreign relationships. We should not unplug it now. ‘Trust us’ was not enough then, and it is not enough now.
“Americans deserve confidence that public institutions serve them — not presidents, political parties, wealthy interests, or members of powerful families,” Curtis continued. “Congress has an obligation to pursue credible concerns wherever they lead and without regard to party.”

Grassley did not say whether he would subpoena Don Jr. but suggested he is open to calling him in to testify.
“I think the fact is that it takes time, and if you were going to ask me when you’re going to have a hearing, there’s no way I could answer that today,” Grassley said to Punchbowl News.
Grassley added: “I’m going to take his request seriously and sit down with staff and see what we can do.”
