A home has been destroyed by a roaring brush fire in Southern California as dramatic video showed the building gutted by the flames.
The blaze emerged near 2400 Las Palomas Drive in La Habra Heights and has surrounded at least one property.
The fire is currently burning 20 acres as of 3:45 p.m. as Los Angeles County firefighters raced to protect the area.
Los Angeles County Fire responded to the brush fire at 2:23 p.m. in the Lupin Hill Road and Las Palomas Drive in Whittier, according to KTLA.
“There is an evacuation warning in place for the #PalosFire in zones LHH-772-A, LAC-E613-B, LAC-E615-B, LAC-E618-B. Please visit https://protect.genasys.com to see if you are affected,” the fire department posted on X.
One person has reportedly been evaluated by emergency officials, while crews rescued a horse.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department is assisting the Orange County Fire Authority, where the cause of the Palos fire is still unknown.
